The module is supposed to fully automatically grow crop plants with a minimum demand of space and energy, thus support the food supply in remote areas of the world or later even in space. The expectations of the project members were strongly influenced by the overly illustrative and more naive stile of the NASA mission logos. My intention, however, was to develop a more clear and simple mission logo which still transfers the feelings of dawn and hope that lie within this project. My design shows a seedling, still growing on earth but striving for the stars. The seedling symbolizes beginning, hope and innocence. The outer shape points towards the sky and reminds of a spacecraft or an arrowhead that carries the little plant upward. The project members were convinced by my unexpected approach and maybe in 10 or 20 years the logo will be seen in space.
